WASHINGTON _ A new audiotape surfaced Wednesday warning of dramatic terrorist attacks against the United States and other nations, and purportedly carrying the voice of the top deputy to al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

The speaker on the tape, said to be Egyptian doctor Ayman al Zawahri, called on Muslims to strike embassies and other targets belonging to the United States, Great Britain, Australia and Norway.

"The next few days will reveal to you news that will gladden your hearts, God willing," the speaker says.

U.S. intelligence agencies were analyzing the tape, broadcast on the Arab television channel Al-Jazeera, to try to determine...
