Oct. 12--GlaxoSmithKline P.L.C. is in talks with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration about selling its Fluarix influenza vaccine in the United States this season because of the expected flu vaccine shortage this year.
"We are in ongoing discussions with FDA about the possibility of bringing Fluarix to the U.S.," Danielle Halstrom, spokeswoman for the London-based drug maker said.
Glaxo is exploring ways to supply doses this season, and working on a long-term plan to increase production at its main flu vaccine manufacturing plant in Dresden, Germany, she said. The drug maker would not say how many flu vaccine doses it makes, or how much it could supply to...
