PRAGUE, Nov 4 (CTK) - The government is still considering the introduction of a "flood tax" which would help it cover the damage caused by August's large-scale floods, Premier Vladimir Spidla said at the Zofin Forum today.

"I see it as a certain mistake that we have not adopted the flood tax," he said, adding that the government instead made changes in value added tax because it needed money quickly.

"The situation is such that we shall cope with the financing but only at the expense of burdening future public financing," said Spidla. This is not an optimal state and a flood tax is still possible, he said without further …
