Movies This week's premieres The Italian Job (Lupez po taliansky) - Action/Thriller by F. Gary Gray. Inspired by the 1969 Michael Caine film of the same name, it depicts a gang of highly professional robbers who escape a heavily guarded palazzo in Venice with a car full of gold. However, a double-crosser (Edward Norton) steals the money and causes the death of one his colleagues. But, the team's mastermind (Mark Wahlberg) is ready for revenge. Equilibrium - Action/Sci-fi by Kurt Wimmer. In a futuristic world, a strict regime has eliminated war by suppressing human emotions. Art is strictly forbidden, and feeling is a crime punishable by death. A top-ranking government agent (Christian Bale), who is responsible for destroying those who resist the rules, once misses his daily dose of a mind-altering drug that hinders emotion and thus becomes the only person capable of overthrowing the system. A Man Apart (Kokainovy kartel) - Action/Drama by F. Gary Gray. Sean Vetter (Vin Diesel) and his partner Demetrius Hicks (Larenz Tate), members of the Drug Enforcement Administration, are fighting an ongoing drug war on the US-Mexican border. Being thugs who converted to cops, they use their street tactics to catch the leader, Diablo, of a notorious drug cartel. Other movies playing Bulletproof Monk (Nepriestre3/4ny mnich) - Action/Comedy by Paul Hunter. Based on the comic book of the same name, the movie begins in the 1940s as a Tibetan Buddhist monk, charged with protecting a mystical scroll, passes on his legacy to his pupil (Chow Yun-Fat).
