Words are insufficient to express my gratitude to Wendy Ponte for "Solitary Sadness" in the July-August 2002 issue. I could not handle reading it all in one sitting because it brought back too many (buried, I realized) memories of the miscarriage I suffered in early September 2000.

Some members of my family, like my husband, were supportive of my struggle; others were much less so. I finally sought counseling to help me overcome the grief and depression. Today, I am ecstatic that we have a healthy 13-month-old baby girl.

Thank you, too, for including the unbelievably moving poem "Nobody Knew You" by Jan Cosby, as well as the sidebar "The Right Words."
