Oct. 30--AGGIE FIRMS' SUCCESS RATE IS NO JOKE: Texas A&M University recently ranked the 100 fastest-growing Aggie-owned and operated small companies.
No, submarine screen-door installers were not at the top of the list.
Energy, health care, information technology and construction firms all made the grade, though.
The surveyors at the Mays Business School's Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship looked at companies at least 5 years old and reporting more than $100,000 in revenue in 2002.
MGV Energy Inc., based in Alberta, took the No. 1 spot, with revenue growth of 357 percent from 2002 to 2004.
Formed in 1997, the company has Aggies at the chief executive and president positions, and is now a $115 million business with more than 100 employees....
