Oct. 30--STRAUSS, FIRM MARK A MONTH OF MILESTONES: As if anyone doubted it, Robert S. "Bob" Strauss, the original West Texas tornado, is still going strong.

He was 87 years old on Oct. 17 and still goes to the office in Washington, D.C., every day.

And Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld LLP, the international high-profile law firm he co-founded 60 years ago this month, is doing likewise.

Born in Stamford on the Haskell-Jones county line, this legal icon has triumphed in the corporate realm and in national and international political arenas, in large part due to his nonpareil negotiating skills.

But Mr. Strauss would be one of the first to maintain that the reputation of Akin Gump doesn't rest...
