Section: General News - The Customs Department has generated Bt766 million this year from six auctions of seized vehicles, The Nation reports.
Soiphet Suwanchaiyote, director of the Seized Property Bureau, said the figures showed an improvement from the Bt700 million raised last year.
"Now we're holding auctions twice a month, with 100 to 200 vehicles on sale at each one," she said. The auctions are organised by Katha Communication Co Ltd, which has handled several state-agency auctions, including the Land Transport Department's licence-plate sales.
Most vehicles are seized in Bangkok.
