BRISBANE, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - The Queensland government is opening up more than 6,000 square kilometres of the state to geothermal and petroleum exploration.
Natural Resources and Mines Minister Henry Palaszczak Monday said the state government was taking tenders for petroleum exploration in four sites covering 2,500 square kilometres in central and southern Queensland.
It also was opening up 3,600 sq km for geothermal exploration in six areas in the state's south-west and central region, he said.
