Oct. 31--Holed up at the J.W. Marriott Hotel on Brickell Avenue early last Monday as Hurricane Wilma battered Miami, Greenberg Traurig CEO Cesar Alvarez could see the windows of the Colonial Bank building across the street popping out one after another.
"The windows were shattering," said Alvarez, 58, who checked in to the hotel Sunday night as the storm swirled towards South Florida. "The windows were there one second and then gone the next."
So he went down the hall to get a view of his law firm's office building located...
