Fort Worth, Texas - American Airlines today showed its continuing appreciation for the U.S. armed forces by extending into January 2006 several special offers available exclusively for active-duty members of the U.S. military. These offers include discounted airfares, reduced minimum stay requirements, and preferred boarding privileges.
"Every day, members of our armed forces and their families continue to demonstrate courage, commitment - and great sacrifice - on behalf of their country and their fellow citizens," said Dan Garton, American's Executive Vice President of Marketing. "American Airlines is pleased to extend these special offers in admiration and appreciation for all they are doing." American is now allowing travel on its special military fares through Jan. 31, 2006. Active-duty members of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, National Guard and Reserves who are on leave or furlough (including those who are traveling within seven days of discharge from active service), and their spouse and dependent children are eligible for these fares. The special military fares are available for travel to domestic and various international destinations.
