Seven students attending Saint Stephen's Episcopal School have received recognition in the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Laura Heyl has been named as one of 16,000 National Merit Semifinalist nationwide. She will advance to the finalist level and become eligible for some 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards that will be offered in the spring.
Students recognized as National Merit Commended Students are Robert Babbage, Nicholas Goss, Joshua Jackman, Danielle Pol, Jenny Pullias and Eleni Sokos. They are among 34,000 Commended Students who placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1 million students who took the 2004 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Saint Stephen's, a college preparatory school for students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, is at 315 41st St. W., Bradenton.
