Thanks for your June mattress article. Many, like me, suffer from arthritic problems. I've tried every sleeping surface, but the only mattress that supports me well and provides a restful night's sleep is one I purchased from a foam rubber outlet where I could select the size, firmness, etc. It has lasted for many years. Cost? Under $100.

I'm shocked that you failed to mention the best alternative to overpriced mattresses: mattress toppers. For $50 to $200, you can buy a thick foam pad that can make even a cheap mattress feel great.
