Corruption in the government tendering system inflates the cost of projects, distorts allocation of resources and undermines competition, the director of Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) Tymon Katlholo has said. He told a four-day international conference on graft in Gaborone that this is especially true when government officials are bribed to award tenders to foreign companies.
