Oct. 26--The owner of the Gypsy Tea Room and other Deep Ellum gathering spots has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection because of ongoing legal woes and sagging sales, a company executive said Tuesday.
The Entertainment Collaborative, a Deep Ellum-based holding company, sought protection from creditors in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Dallas for itself and each of its four dining and music spots.
The company also operates the Green Room and the Trees concert venue in Deep Ellum as well as Jeroboam restaurant downtown.
The venues continue to operate, but staffing is down...
