Although cotton producers in the U.S. are crying foul because of the World Trade Organization's decision against U.S. cotton subsidies, it could be an important victory for U.S. consumers and taxpayers. The WTO case has not even been published yet and might drag on for several years in the WTO dispute settlement procedure; nevertheless, the farm lobby is already out in force denouncing the decision.
