TAIPEI-THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE Philippines and Taiwan are in talks on developing a growth corridor that will link the economic zones of Subic and Kaohsiung as a step toward a possible free trade pact.

Antonio I. Basilio, resident representative at the Manila Economic and Cultural Office here, said the idea was to put up a corridor of efficient and seamless manufacturing zone where people from both shores would be free to move.

"Counterpart teams are still consulting on how to realize this economic corridor, but we hope we can have some preliminary agreements soon," Basilio said. …
