The issue of equity holding of telecom companies is under perusal of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The DoT is reviewing the license agreements to examine if there is any violation of the competition clause among service providers. The license conditions stipulate that any company or promoter is not permitted to hold over 10 percent equity in more than one provider within the same circle.
