Section: General News - Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra Sunday dismissed a claim by Malaysian officials that Thailand is spying on its border troop movements, saying that it was a misunderstanding.

The premier made the remarks in response to a news report that Malaysia will beef up troops at its border with Thailand after detecting attempts at spying by Thai soldiers.

"We're adding more personnel to monitor the situation at the border so that no one can encroach for whatever reason," the Malaysian deputy prime minister was quoted as saying by the national news agency Bernama.
