Text of unattributed commentary: "Who is the target of the report about the reasons behind Hariri's assassination? Mehlis creates a political storm against Syria and all Jihadi groups", published by the Iranian newspaper E'temad website on 22 October

International desk: The 60-page long report by Detlev Mehlis, German prosecutor and the chairman of the international committee of inquiry into the assassination of the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri, has been submitted to the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Kofi Annan will in turn submit the report to the UN Security Council so that it can take appropriate decisions about how to deal with those responsible for that terrorist act. According to political observers, that report could give rise to a major political storm in the Middle East and can upset the regional equations.
