Trees are being planted, toasts raised and beacons lit as Leicestershire pays tribute to Lord Nelson's victory in the Battle of Trafalgar.
Today is the 200th anniversary of England's most famous naval battle against the French.
Tonight, the longest line of signal beacons in the country will be set ablaze, starting with Beacon Hill.
The beacons will stretch from Ullesthorpe, across the Claybrookes via Bardon, through Beacon Hill and Breedon on the Hill church.
David Bill, chairman of Leicestershire County Council, is due to light the first one tonight at 6.50pm.
