THREE police constables were on Wednesday arraigned before a Lokoja Chief Magistrate's court for breaking into police armoury and carting away several arms and ammunition. The prosecution said one of the accused, Akingbade Ojowu, was on the run, while the two others, Isaac Aiyegbowu and Orogun Theophilus were in custody.
The trio, all of Gboloko police station, in Bassa local government area of Kogi, were charged with conspiracy, house breaking and theft.
When the case was mentioned on Wednesday, the prosecuting police officer, Insp. Abdulrahman Ibrahim, applied for adjournment because investigation had not been concluded.
He urged the court not to grant the accused bail in view of the enormity of the crime.
In her ruling, Magistrate Angelina Salihu, ordered the accused to be remanded in Dekina prisons and adjourned hearing to Dec. 6.
