(From Vanguard (Nigeria) - AAGM)
PRESIDENT Olusegun Obasanjo Yesterday in Abuja said that the nation's elders were sacrificing their today to make tomorrow better for the country's teeming youths. Obasanjo made the observation in an address delivered to youths and students at their special conference to review the gains of the World Festival of Youth and Students held in Caracas, Venezuela in August,
Obasanjo told them that his reforms were very painful to Nigerians but that they would eventually be for the nation's good.
"We are today engaged in reforms touching on all aspects of our national lives," he said, pointing out that although the process was painful, it was the sacrifice to be paid to get the country out of the woods," he added.
"We have to reform if we want to transform and we have to transform to make progress," he said, adding: "Our sacrifices today are for your better tomorrow and those coming after you".
