Oct. 22--There's one school of thought that says consumers want cellphones that let them talk and perform only one other thing well.
That line of thinking has brought us such phones as Motorola's ROKR, which does voice and iTunes music; Nokia's N-Gage, which combines voice and games; and BlackBerry phones, which offer voice and an e-mail function that many cannot live without.
