The first Bowl Championship Series standings of the season didn't disappoint with Monday's release.
As we've come to expect, they're shocking.
The shock is that there's nothing at the top of the standings to be outraged about.
Not yet, anyway.
With USC (6-0) at No. 1 and Texas (6-0) at No. 2, this much-maligned system for determining who will play for the national championship at season's end is sorting things out nicely, so far.
You can quibble about whether Virginia Tech (6-0), Georgia (6-0) or Alabama (6-0) are in the right spots at Nos. 3-4-5 respectively. You can even...
