Do you know what similes are? Maybe not, but you probably use them all the time. If you've ever said something is as sweet as honey or as hard as a rock, you've used a simile.
A simile compares two unlike things and includes as or like. For example, when someone says "the dog's bark is as loud as a truck," he or she is using a simile to compare the dog's bark to the sound of a truck.
Create similes of your own to finish the sentences. The first sentence has been done as an example. On a separate sheet of paper, explain why you think your similes work.
