Oct. 4--OCALA, Fla. -- With great fanfare and even more rain, the Florida Horse Park officially broke ground Monday.
As assembled dignitaries huddled under a large tent to avoid an afternoon downpour, Horse Park president Tom Warriner vowed the new facility will be ready to go in time for the first scheduled event Nov. 5 and 6, albeit with temporary structures.
