MELISSA FRANCIS, CNBC ANCHOR: A new survey of economic forecasters predicts the U.S. economy will continue its solid expansion into the next year despite price spikes due to Hurricane Katrina. According to latest NABE survey, forecasters pared their prediction for inflation-adjusted economic growth by 0.04 of a percent for this quarter and 0.2 of a percent for next quarter, this as a result of Katrina`s impact. But overall forecasters expect a 3.5 percent rise in GDP for this year and 3.4 percent increase next year. The real wildcard, of course, will be energy prices. Forecasters predict crude oil will cost $63 a barrel by the end of this year, but will slip to $55 a barrel by the end of next...
