VAIL, Colo. _ When deciding on the Florida Panthers' top two pairs of defensemen, coach Jacques Martin matched players with opposing styles who would complement each other.
Martin looked at 35-year-old Sean Hill, with 13 seasons of NHL experience, and saw a stabilizing presence in the defending zone whose ability to communicate makes the game easier.
