Sep. 28--DreamWorks, the studio founded by Hollywood heavyweights Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, has pulled the plug on talks to sell itself to G.E.-owned NBC.

NBC wasn't willing to cough up $1 billion for the studio, which has stumbled with recent flops like sci-fi flick "The Island."
