MARIA BARTIROMO, CNBC ANCHOR: The auto industry may be the next causality of the high price of oil. The Chief Executive Officer of Nissan, Carlos Ghosn, told CNBC exclusively that the first two weeks of September have been unexpectedly poor for the auto industry. In an exclusive interview, I spoke with Mr. Ghosn to find out exactly the impact of the high price of oil as well as two major hurricanes on the industry.

CARLOS GHOSN, CEO, NISSAN MOTOR: There was a market slowdown starting at the beginning of September following the first hurricane. And the second hurricane is obviously, taking a toll on consumer confidence. So, without any doubt, September is not going to be a great month for the industry.
