MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. _ The announced crowd of 72,288 celebrated rookie tailback Ronnie Brown's coming-out party by chanting his first name, but it was the late heroics of two veterans that sent the fans at Dolphins Stadium home happy.
A 37-yard interception return by free safety Lance Schulters helped set up a 32-yard Olindo Mare field goal with four seconds remaining, giving the Dolphins a wild 27-24 victory over the Carolina Panthers.
``I'm just happy to be 2-1,'' middle linebacker Zach Thomas said. ``Nobody expected us to be that at this point.''
Not only have they exceeded the low expectations surrounding the team entering the season, the Dolphins (2-1) enter their bye week tied with New England atop the AFC East.
``I am really happy for the players,'' coach Nick Saban said. ``This is a great win for them....
