MARK HAINES, CNBC ANCHOR: As the price of oil prices soars, so do profits at the major oil companies, and that is not going over well with some on Capitol Hill. Senators Byron Dorgan and Chris Dodd are calling for a windfall tax on big oil profits.

SEN. BYRON DORGAN (D), NORTH DAKOTA: The major integrated oil companies are profiting handsomely to the tune of $7 billion a month of extra excess windfall profits. And we`ve introduced this legislation because we believe some of that should be recaptured and returned as a rebate to the consumers in this country.
