Recently I had lunch with a friend whose daughters are 7 and 9. As we settled in over soup and salad, she proudly rattled off a list of her girls' activities and achievements. "They are involved with scouts, dance, soccer, karate, piano and service projects through church." As if that wasn't enough, she added, "And I expect them to be the best.
