The dominant star of this fall's new shows is so funny he doesn't even have to show up to make you laugh. Chris Rock will be heard only as a narrator and not seen at all in UPN's "Everybody Hates Chris." Still, the sitcom loosely based on his life is the season's brightest bauble.
Rock adds immeasurably to the show and is the audience magnet for a network that needs one, but "Everybody Hates Chris" is such a relatable and humorous family sitcom, it would be entertaining enough to seek out even without his voiceovers.
