Nasdaq stocks survived an early oil-related scare, closing higher in subdued volume Monday. The Nasdaq composite and Nasdaq 100 each rose 0.8% as crude oil prices crested at $70 a barrel, then pulled back amid pounding of the Gulf Coast by Hurricane Katrina.
