The busy summer for initial public offerings has gone on vacation this week. At press time, none were on deck.
But IPO watchers still have things to talk about. Chief among them was a published report last week that Vonage Holdings was planning to file to go public.
Vonage offers voice over Internet protocol, or VoIP, which is basically regular phone service through broadband Internet connections. Customers can make unlimited calls for a flat fee of $24.99 a month.
The firm's financials aren't public knowledge, but subscriber growth has been impressive.
