Targeting laptop computer users, Verizon Wireless slashed the price of its wireless broadband service by 25% Monday to $60 monthly.

For that money, customers get unlimited wireless Internet access. But first they need a Verizon cell phone plan for making voice calls. Those plans start at $40 monthly.

Verizon Wireless' high-speed service, which relies on a cellular standard called EV-DO, reaches one-third of the U.S. -- including seven markets added Monday.

Verizon leads other wireless firms, such as Cingular Wireless and Sprint, in expanding its high-speed data network....
