Sep. 20--Dennis Kozlowski and Mark Swartz treated Tyco International like their personal piggy bank -- and yesterday, they got sent to the pen.
The former highflying execs were led out of a Manhattan courtroom in gray suits and handcuffs after being sentenced to 81/3 to 25 years in state prison for looting $600 million from Tyco in one of the biggest and most infamous ripoffs in U.S. corporate history.
Now Kozlowski, the corporate chieftain who was paid $267 million from 1999 to 2001 alone, will be earning $1.05 a day in prison for mundane tasks like making license plates.
