Sep. 7--WASHINGTON -- As President Bush asked for $51.8 billion in new Hurricane Katrina aid yesterday, a top Democrat accused him of being "in denial" over the response to the catastrophe.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called Bush "oblivious, in denial, dangerous" for defending Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael Brown -- and for hiring him in the first place.
