Harold Goodman is fast. He's proven that in the past, with a Pro-class overall at the 1998 Ashtabula race when he smoked Tim Farr and Shane Hitt. He finished sixth overall in the Pro class in 2004, but even with that on his racing resume nobody thought he'd win the 2005 FMF Extreme Dirt Track ATVA Nationals opener--not even Goodman himself.

Goodman told ATV Sport that he was having handling issues with his Curtis Sparks-powered Suzuki LT-Z. And The Bee even said he thought Farr would win the opener at Twin Creeks Raceway in Greenbrier, Ark Well, either Goodman was just being modest or seriously underestimating his own talents as a rider and the machine he had underneath him. Because when it came time to perform, Goodman delivered.
After placing a solid third in his qualifying heat, Goodman launched off the line into second at the start of the pro main. He then took the lead and never looked back. The Bee buzzed ahead of the competition with a nearly flawless race and recorded his first Proclass win in more than two years. Goodman displayed the same speed and smoothness as he did seven seasons ago.
When asked if The Bee of 1999 had returned, Goodman laughed and said, "At least for this round." He said he surprised himself a little by winning. "We expected to do well, but I wasn't expecting to win," he said.
"I don't know what got into him. I didn't expect it, but he rode awesome. I'm happy for him. Harold is a good guy. If there's anyone besides myself that I'd like to see win, it's Harold," Keith Little (Lonestar Racing) said.
Goodman said competing in the Moose ITP MX Nationals helped him on the Twin Creeks Course. "The track was a little on the rough side. It had some of the bigger jumps. I got myself in better shape and didn't fatigue at all out there. Everything worked well and it was just comfortable," explained Goodman.
