Hi Coach,
For years I've played men's league hardball with my friend Brad, a fellow partner in our Cincinnati accounting firm. We're real die-hards. Traditionally, I bat clean up and he's our lead off hitter. I use to be able to hit for more power than Brad. But recently, he's been smashing the ball for extra base hits nearly every at bat.
It all started after Brad returned from a business trip to England. He got back and started pounding doubles and triples down the third base line. Every single pitch, he was way out in front of the ball, just waiting to unload.
Pitchers thought he was some kind of freak of nature! Brad didn't look any stronger or faster, but somehow he was just ripping the ball. He had never been able to handle a curveball before. Now, he was hammering away at anything that even came close to crossing the plate.
One night after a game, I convinced Brad to tell me his secret. Brad told me that during his trip to England a cricket player in Manchester gave him something called Claroxan[TM]. The guy told him that English fighter pilots used the stuff during WWII to shoot more accurately during air raids. More recently, he said, cricket players were using it to lock in on the ball faster and hunters are using it to shoot better while hunting.
