FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ The Miami Heat's offseason overhaul won't include free-agent swingman Michael Finley.
Despite having more to offer, in terms of salary and a potential starting role, the Heat was trumped by the San Antonio Spurs' championship pedigree.
While the Heat had its entire $5 million mid-level salary-cap exception available, Finley instead opted to remain in Texas, shifting from the Mavericks to the Spurs, who had $2.5 million to offer for the coming season.
