When Lifetime Brands makes a buyout, it usually does so to expand its offerings, add popular brands and bolster its position in various product categories.
The company met each of those objectives last month when it acquired the brands, intellectual property and retail stores of Pfaltzgraff Co.
Lifetime designs, markets and distributes a broad range of kitchenware and housewares through major retailers in the U.S. Part of its strategy is to expand into markets beyond its roots in kitchen gadgets and accessories.
