Aug. 29--Remember Darrin, the hapless husband in the 1960s TV show Bewitched who was constantly stressed out by his job as an advertising creative guy? He was always pitching new accounts using storyboards on an easel.
These days the Darrins of the world are high-tech.
The pictures on poster board are now presented on a website; a proposed TV commercial can be previewed as an animated sketch; clients can watch live from Europe or Asia as an artist in Fort Lauderdale transforms an idea into a drawing.
Relatively new in the advertising industry, this blend of creativity and technology is inspiring a distinct breed of entrepreneurs, such as Fort Lauderdale's Scott Ownbey who has built up a business offering the computerized artistry to ad agencies.
