Aug. 27--The approach of Hurricane Katrina emptied hotel rooms by the thousands. Its arrival quickly filled them back up.
With hundreds of thousands of people without power, local residents headed for the costly comfort of a hotel room. Meanwhile, Florida Power & Light began scooping up rooms for the thousands of workers needed for an extended mop-up operation.
