Aug. 28--DIRECTOR'S PATH MIRRORS THE NATION'S HISTORY: In a way, the museum-oriented trajectory pursued by Nicola J.M. Longford, the new executive director of the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, mirrors the path of the United States from pre-Revolutionary days to the present.

Call it serendipity for this 43-year-old native of Pembry, in Kent, England, who accepted the offer to head the Sixth Floor Museum a week ago and will officially take over Oct. 17.
