RON INSANA, CNBC ANCHOR: In today`s "Realty Check," what gives in the housing sector? Some new data show on the housing market show a divergence between prices for new homes and those for previously owned house which make up about 85 percent of the real estate market. As this chart shows, the median price on new homes has been trending lower in five of the last seven months but the median price of existing homes is up 14 percent compared to a year ago. So will there be a hard or soft landing in the housing market? Lynn Reaser, chief economist at Banc of America Capitol Management joins us as does Anthony Chan, senior economist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
