Every year I find inspiration in the women we feature in our Age issue. This time I was grabbed by Gayfryd Steinberg's revelation that, at 55, she has forsaken suits in favor of more feminine, nuanced, and informal pieces. She's right: suits (conventional ones, that is), which formerly had the effect of making us look grown up, now mostly make us look old-or, at any rate, visually timid, as if we had just decided to raise our hands in surrender to the advancing years and were now content to leave it to the young to have all the fun with fashion.
This issue is dedicated to not being afraid, at any age, of looking distinctively like oneself.
