Thanks to his role in Thumbsucker, Lou Taylor Pucci has become the newest darling of the independent-film world. Part Rushmore, part pseudo-documentary, this disarmingly realistic coming-of-age tale is set in a small suburban town. The 20-year-old Pucci plays Justin, a shaggy-haired adolescent who-as if the traumas of teenagedom weren't enough-can't stop sucking his thumb. The film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, and Pucci took home a Special Jury Prize for Acting.
